“I was expecting a nice tasting room with the usual setup: tables and counters with the lineup of elegant bottles and glasses.  Additionally, I knew the private tasting would be of value considering that it was a reward for a non-profit donation. News From the Vineyard: Transformation! Veraison!

Currently, the Syrah and Pinot Noir grapes are beginning to turn from green to red. During the cycle of the vine it’s a very important moment. “Veraison” represents the transition from berry growth to berry ripening and means we are one step closer to the final product.

2013 Rhone Shootout Competition: Syrah gets new medals!

The 2013 Rhone Shootout, the Affairs of the Vine professional judging panel tasted 261 Rhone wines, most from California and Oregon but some from Washington, Texas, Michigan, Australia, and France. The Rhone Shootout was a comprehensive and focused tasting of Rhone wines. The judging panel, an incredibly diverse panel of 62 wine professionals, tasted 261 wines over a three-month period.
